Age Verification

CommissionHub is an all-ages commission platform. Sexually explicit (NSFW) content is made available only within a separately gated area, accessible solely to users who have completed additional age verification. This page explains our approach and implementation plan for that verification.

Self-declaration alone is not sufficient

A simple “Are you 18 or older?” button, relying only on a user’s self-declaration, is not recognized as effective age verification under the UK Online Safety Act, the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), or most US state age-verification laws. CommissionHub does not rely on self-declaration alone to gate access to NSFW content.

Planned path to effective age verification

We plan to implement effective age verification using one or a combination of the following methods. The final method will be confirmed once we finalize contracts with a payment processor and an age-verification service provider.

• Credit-card-based age verification, using an adult-eligible payment method as a proxy.
• Integration with a third-party age-verification service, such as document-based identity verification or age-estimation technology.

Jurisdictions we account for

Our implementation plan takes into account age-verification requirements including:

• The UK Online Safety Act.
• The EU Digital Services Act (DSA).
• Applicable US state age-verification laws.

Current status

Prior to completion of payment processor underwriting, this site displays all-ages content only, including all sample material, and the NSFW category is not publicly enabled. Once we finalize agreements with a payment processor and an age-verification service provider, we will implement the effective verification methods described above and enable the NSFW category in stages.
